Foolproof Way to Not Deal Well with Anxiety

So I’m waiting for the quiche that I’ve made for dinner to cool, which means I have time to slap-dash a blog entry together and hopefully have it make sense. I apologize for the lack of a blog post on Sunday. I succumbed to one of the worst migraines I’ve had in awhile, got distracted by Great iPod Hunt of 2014, and then spent the evening watching old Craig Ferguson clips instead.

On Monday, I got my copy-edits back. This is the last time I’ll get to touch SUPERHEROES ANONYMOUS before you see it, which is a little daunting for me. The copy editor and I have some very different philosophies about writing, so you could probably insert a gif here of somebody running headlong into a brick wall and you would have the equivalent of my week, I guess. In addition, I finally gathered the courage to go see my new doctor today because I’ve been having difficulty breathing for the past few days. She’s pretty sure it’s anxiety.

That’s right. I’ve created enough anxious energy to send myself falling to pieces. Luckily, I was able to walk away with some treatment options in mind that I hope will be helpful in the long run.

Of course, then I got back to my apartment and decided to see if the New York Comic Con website had posted up the panelist information and schedule. They had.

I’m on a panel with Brandon Sanderson.

So let’s recap:

TWO HOURS after my doctor tells me she’s pretty sure I have anxiety and is putting me back on beta-blockers to deal with it, I check the NYCC site and find out that I am sitting on my very first published author event WITH MY FAVORITE AUTHOR.

THESE ARE ONES NOT ON MY KINDLE. THERE ARE A LOT OF HIS BOOKS ON MY KINDLE. Also, the Rithmatist was lent out to Chelsea.
So that’s my day. How’s yours?

    2. I am offended you think I don't already have a wig and a 'replace Lexie when it becomes convenient' plan.

    3. Is it at least a good wig?

  3. That's so awesome! Great to see excellent things happening to good people!!!

Just saw Brandon at When Words Collide last August in Calgary. He's a hoot and gave us each a copy of The Way Of Kings.

Be yourself and you will charm everyone!! Go get'em kiddo! :-D

    1. Awww, thanks, Lou! I recently flew through Salt Lake City airport and spent the entire time scouring all of the bookshops to see if I could net me a signed copy of anything of his. I've seen him talk on YouTube several times, so I'm just genuinely excited to be attending the panel. The problem is I'll be at the front table. :)

      This is gonna be fun.
