All About Maximus

So it’s Wednesday, time for another blog post.

My spreadsheet (yes, I have one of those, since I’m horrible at coming up with ideas for blog posts on the spot) says that I’m supposed to say something nice about my friend Max or something. I don’t know. It’s his birthday. I guess for one day a year I can stop picking on him (because he’s awful, JUST AWfUL) and say something that’s not mean or at least not too mean.

It’s difficult, though.

I mean, it’s not like we’ve been friends since 2010 or anything. It’s not like he’s listened to me for hours on end as I freak out over plot points or geek out over dialogue or just obsess over something in my writing that’s not working, often at the expense of his own time because he’s patient and awesome like that. It’s not like I haven’t gotten to meet him twice and find out he’s even more delightful each time. Or that he’s genuinely one of the funniest people on the planet, with such droll, sometimes-mean, witty humor. It’s not like any of that’s true, so you can understand why this blog entry is taking me forrrrrrrever to write. There’s just nothing good to put on paper about this dude. I should give up.

And there’s absolutely no use in talking about how cool I think it is that he’s gotten so far in the really hard nursing program he’s put himself through this year. No point at all, even though I’ve learned great words like “asystole” and have had C-sections described to me in great detail. And can ask him things like how to hurt characters! I mean, it’s Max. Everybody knows he’s smart. No need to dwell, you know? He’ll get a big head.

Oh, I know what I’ll do.

Here you go, Max. Happy birthday. In lieu of your actual present (which isn’t ready yet), here are some blonde Australians:

Good god, man, do you have a type.

Stay sexy!
-Lexie

PS – If I haven’t said it lately, I’m so glad you’re my friend.

    1. Shhhhhhh, he can't hear us talking nicely about him. He'll start putting on airs. ;)

  2. This post is perfection. Every single Aussie I love is here. In fact, I am so distracted by them that I don't know what to say about the rest of this post.

    Oh wait... *puts on airs*

Everything you say here is true. I am amazing. I would say thank you for acknowledging it, but really, you're just doing what should be said regardless. :P

Thank you, Lexie. I really, truly appreciate everything you've said here. It made me smile and was an awesome way to usher in my birthday. You are a great friend and my life has been immeasurably better since you entered it.

Thank you so much. This was a great gift. :D
